FAQ

Questions organisers, studios and guests ask.

Can't find yours? Write to us and we'll answer, then add it here.

Albums and guests

Whose brand do guests see, mine or Pixinoid's?

Yours. The album page shows your logo and colours, and your watermark is on every photo guests see and download.

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. Guests open the album link or scan the QR in their phone's browser. Finding their photos takes one selfie, and nobody is asked to sign up.

What happens to the selfie?

It's sent once to find matching faces in that album, then discarded. We keep only the list of photos it matched, for that phone, for 30 days, so guests can come back to their results.

Can the media team upload during the event?

Yes. Upload from any laptop browser while the event runs. New photos show up for guests and on the live wall as they're processed, usually within a minute or two.

Who can see the photos?

You choose per album: the whole album for anyone with the link, only the photos each guest is in, or only your team. You can add a PIN on top.

How big can an album get?

A free album holds 500 photos and 100 guests. Fests and studios get albums sized for the event, with tens of thousands of photos. Talk to us and we'll set one up.

What happens when the album's plan ends?

The album stays up, read-only. Guests can still open it and download their photos. Uploads and new face scans stop until the plan is extended.

Can our sponsors appear on the photos?

Yes. Add a sponsor bar, your own frame artwork or a corner logo. It goes on every download and Instagram share, and the album counts how many photos went out with it.

Is face search optional?

Yes. Turn it off for any album and guests browse the gallery instead. For private events, use “only your team” access or a PIN.

Uploading photos

Which file formats can I upload?

JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC, up to 100 MB per photo. Camera RAW files aren't supported yet, so export JPEGs from Lightroom, Photoshop or your camera first.

Can I upload many photos at once?

Yes. Select or drop in hundreds of photos at a time from a laptop browser. Photos you've already uploaded are skipped, and failed uploads retry with one tap.

Can I upload videos?

Not yet. Albums hold photos only for now.

What if a guest uploads something inappropriate?

Guest uploads wait for your review and only appear once you approve them. You can remove any photo from the album or the live wall at any time.

Devices

Is there an app to install?

No. Pixinoid is a website. Guests open the album in their phone's browser, and your team uses it from any laptop or phone browser.

Does it work on Android and iPhone?

Yes. Any modern browser works, on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers.

Does it work offline?

No, it needs an internet connection. Pages are kept light so they load on campus Wi-Fi and mobile data.

What counts as a guest?

Each phone or browser that opens the album counts once, however many times it comes back. Your team doesn't count.

What's a face scan?

One selfie search by a guest. Every attempt counts, because each one runs a face search. Guests coming back to their saved results don't use a scan.

What happens if we hit a limit mid-event?

Uploads past the photo or storage limit are refused, new guests see that the album is full, and face search pauses once scans run out. Tell us before the event and we'll size the album for it.

What happens when the 15 days are up?

The album stays up, read-only. Guests can still view and download. Uploads and new face scans stop until the album is moved to a bigger plan.

How do we pay for a bigger album?

Write to us with the event, the expected number of photos and guests and the dates. We'll set the album up and invoice you, with GST.
